ABOUT ME:
I have always been interested in making my own meals, being healthy and making sure that I really enjoy what I eat. Yes… I do like green smoothies and hemp seeds as well as occasional cocktails, steaks and even some french fries every now and then! I really don’t expect everyone to enjoy every highlighted “superfood” to be successful. Over the last twenty years I have recognized the power of knowing what I am feeding my body, and how you can actually feel the difference when you take steps to make intentional choices. I have personally experienced that when I take care of my body with balanced nutrients, movement and purposeful relaxation I feel my best, have better energy and also minimize my exposure to needing medication and other medical challenges.
Telecom and graphic design had their exciting moments, as I found in my 20s and early 30s. I took some time to stay home with my kids and during these years I became more and more interested in wellness. Our world became more and more saturated with technology, “screens”, and convenience foods that are cheap and easy to get. It’s understandable why and at the same time I truly believe that it benefits us all to be more mindful and intentional about how we take care of ourselves. After years of extensive learning and researching on my own, I also completed a certification with Precision Nutrition (PN1) for health and wellness coaching. I truly understand that each individual will vary and it’s important to understand one size doesn’t fit all. The program allowed me to go deep in nutrition science as well as the actual coaching styles that work.
When I am coaching, it is my goal to become a partner with my clients. I want to understand what motivates each person. I want to understand their likes and dislikes, what their daily life is like and I want to know their budgets— financial and time! Any real solution needs to be sustainable. My approach is warm and non judgmental, I would like to feel like I am their “dial a friend” as one client referred to me. I really love working with my clients to equip them, customize approaches for them and even hold their hands as they find their own paths to taking better care of themselves. However, my clients do have to work hard as they are making a new commitment to change habits which can be difficult. BUT, I will be there every step of the way!
When I am not coaching clients, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two teenage sons, friends and my dog, Nero. I love to walk, hike, travel, row, practice pilates, strength train, cook and really connect with people.
